Original Question:
I have a folder with many images that I would like to hotlink to objects in
a view.
I am looking for a script that would allow me to hotlink an object by
selecting the desired image file from a dialog box similar to a file open
dialog.  thanks will sum

If you're using ArcView 3.x, you need to add a field to the shapefile .dbf
in which you type the path to the image file that you want to link to the
specific entity. Then you go to the theme properties for the shapefile, and
scroll down to "hot link" In the "field" box, you put the new field with
path/filename, and in the "predefined action" box, you specify "link to
image file" Hope this helps!
